What is the Network?
The American Rehabaction Network is a network of concerned citizens created to educate Congress, other policy makers and ordinary citizens about the worth, need and success of the Public Vocational Rehabilitation Program.
The American Rehabaction Network is unique, for it is the ONLY network that focuses EXCLUSIVELY on those programs established and funded under the Rehabilitation Act to assist persons with disabilities to become employed and live independently.
No other organization is designed to showcase the results of the contributions of VR counselors, rehabilitation technicians, teachers, evaluators, therapists, secretaries, adjustment specialists, trainers and the many other hard working women and men whose lives are committed to assisting persons with disabilities reach their vocational potential and independence.
What Does the Network Offer?
Joining the American Rehabaction Network allows you to become intimately aware of the status and background of legislation and policies which directly affect the Public Vocational Rehabilitation Program (VR). You will know who the people are in government that are supporting the Public Vocational Rehabilitation Program and which ones are not! You will also be offered opportunities for professional development second to none!
You will receive In the Public Interest, a publication that provides news and analysis of personalities, policies and programs you will find too hot to ignore. You will also receive ALERTS, to keep you informed and one step ahead of the opponents. You will be invited to attend National conferences, forums and seminars to keep on top of your profession in order to “promote the cause.”
What Can I Do as a Member?
Through the publication, In the Public Interest, you will be kept up to date with important Vocational Rehabilitation issues that directly affect your work with, and commitment to, the Public Vocational Rehabilitation Program. When necessary, you will be asked to communicate with members of Congress to express your support for issues important to the continued success of the Program. In times of urgency, calls or visits to Congressional offices will be invaluable. You will also be asked to take part in various educational functions designed to improve the Public Vocational Rehabilitation Program.
The success of American Rehabaction Network will depend on YOU and your willingness to educate and advocate. Note: If you have a state chapter of ARAN, you should join through that chapter.
